Institute of Crystallography
Our research is located at the interface of geo- and material science, chemistry and physics.
Our aim is to gain insight into structure-activity-correlations of applied functional materials. Our main foci are the structure and dynamics of nanostructured solid-liquid interfaces, magnetism, superconductivity, high pressure experiments, as well as heterogeneous catalysts. We employ and develop various X-ray and neutron scattering techniques in the laboratory and at large scale research centers.
Furthermore, our Institute operates and develops two neutron diffractometers at the neutron research reactor FRM-II close to Munich.
