Information about the studies of materials science and applied geosciencescould be obtained using the following links.

The aim of the specialisation field Geomaterials is to gain a basic knowledge (including the theoretical basis) about the chemical and physical properties of naturally occurring minerals and of nature-inspired synthetic materials. This will lead to a deeper understanding of the relation between the atomistic structure of these materials and their properties. Such a knowledge will not only allow to understand the influence of these properties on the geological processes but also help to develop novel materials with tailored properties for technologically relevant applications.
